Building a Consistent Mindfulness Practice

If I were building a consistent mindfulness practice by the end of 2025—with no experience—here’s how I’d start (and how I did back in 2012).

Start small.

Each morning, just notice your body and your breath—no phone, no distractions—just be a body. Then add in movement, sensory awareness, or a mindful walk. Bring presence into simple tasks—wash the dishes to just wash the dishes.

When you’re ready, try a minute of sitting still. One minute matters. Then build from there.

It’s not about how long you practice, it’s about showing up for it.

Consistency is what changes everything, in practice, life, work, everything!

Is developing more mindfulness in your daily life on your bucket list this year or next?
